I first began yoga sometime around 17 years old, where I had a profound emotional release during a yoga class at a local gym. I had cried and wondered for years what had happened. This experience stayed in the back of my mind. I moved on, and practiced inconsistently until after I had my first child. I experienced deep emotional and physical trauma from pregnancy due to circumstance. After trying to get back into the gym postpartum, I felt called to be more gentle with myself. I began to practice every morning at mountain yoga. From the moment I took my first class at Mountain Yoga Sandy, I felt an sense of safety and community. Not long after practicing consistently, my intuition told me to sign up for teacher training. I felt the desire to hold space for others to feel all that they need. To guide others in their practice, so they might also experience the mental and physical healing effects of yoga. I have always been very drawn to caretaking, and the use of natural remedies. It is an honor to guide the yogis here at Mountain Yoga Sandy in asana.
